Robin A. Harper

Robin A. Harper is Professor of Political Science at York College (City University of New York). Her research focuses on comparative public policy. She is especially intrigued by questions concerning the meaning of citizenship, belonging, borders, and temporary labor migration, and how public policy can promote, hinder, or prevent immigrant inclusion and exclusion. Robin A. Harper began her dual Master’s work at Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs and the George Washington University with the aspiration to work on projects incorporating guerrillas after low-intensity conflict. Before returning to academia to earn her doctorate in Political Science from the Graduate Center, City University of New York, Robin A. Harper worked in the public sector as Deputy Director of the NYC Mayor’s Office Immigrant Affairs and Language Services and as Policy Supervisor for Social Services and Immigrant Affairs at the NYC Office of Management & Budget. She served as a Policy Analyst as a Robert Bosch Fellow in Germany in the Berlin Senate Office of Integration Affairs and in the Federal Ministry of Labor in the Immigrant Integration Department. Robin A. Harper was a Project Supervisor for a non-governmental cross-border social service/public health program in Pakistan and Afghanistan.
